Human Rights groups work in promoting respect for human rights
The struggle to get the universal human rights implemented have been going on for decades now. Despite the United Nations passing the human rights charter in 1947, the charter is still far away from being obeyed by pope of all walks of life. There are numerous cases of human rights violations that are still happening all over the world. Human rights have not been fully achieved as they should be.
Human rights had been passed with the intention of reclaiming back the human dignity after the mass killings that were witnessed after the world war one and two. According to the charter, every human being is protected by law from acts of discrimination. This is something that have been established by law and should therefore be obeyed by all.
Human rights are also incorporated as part of the constitution. In a world where acts such as racial discrimination are still to be eliminated, there have been numerous cases of people who have been discriminating immigrants in their countries for no good reason.
Being an immigrant does not mean that one is illegally in the county. After all even if they are illegally in the country, the law should be used in the right manner. It is not the responsibility of any citizen to take law into their own hands.
Every member of the society is protected by the human rights charter and therefore even an illegal migrant they should be handled in a human way that respects their rights. They have been discriminated by being put through laws that do not respect their rights as human being. They have been treated as slaves by being put through working conditions that are obviously inhumane and consequently against the human rights. The move is wrong and should be eliminated from the face of the earth as quickly as possible.
About Lacey and Larkin foundation
This is a foundation that has been operating in the state of Arizona. It was established with the sole purpose of making the work of other human rights organizations easy. Theirs is to help them through financing.
It was started by two journalist, Michael lacey and Jim Larkin. Lacey and Larkin have a passion for helping people. They have committed $3.75 million to go towards human rights protection campaigns. The money is disbursed to right groups that are actively fighting the cases of human rights abuse.
Lacey and Larkin have always been activists for human freedom but their zeal was reinforced when the state arrested them for publishing s story about a court jury decision. They were arrested forcefully phoenix Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
They protested the matter by initiating legal proceedings against the state. The court of appeals granted them a settlement of $3.75 million for the trauma and losses they went through during the time of arrest and detention.
